Gauge privacy policy

Gauge is a record-keeping app for peptide and GLP-1 protocols. This policy describes what the app does with information, in plain words.

Everything stays on your phone. Gauge keeps your protocols, entries, vials, metrics, side effects, lab results, progress photos, and settings in a database on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours. We cannot see your records, and we do not collect them.

The one thing the app downloads. Each compound's reference page can show live listings of registered trials and published papers. To fetch them, your phone asks two public services run by the US National Institutes of Health, ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed, for listings about that compound. The request contains the compound's search term and nothing about you. Like any website, those services can see your phone's IP address; their own privacy policies apply to that. The listings are cached on your phone. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy, and the pages then show only the entry the app ships with.

What leaves your phone only when you send it. Backups and exports (spreadsheet or PDF) are created on your phone and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where they go, whether Files, iCloud Drive, mail, or another app, is your choice, and those services' policies apply from there. Gauge never uploads them itself.

Reminders. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone. They do not pass through any server.

App lock. If you switch on the app lock, your iPhone's own Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode does the check. Gauge never sees or stores your face, fingerprint, or passcode.

Photos. Progress photos you add are stored in the app's own database on your phone, shrunk to save space, and travel inside your backup. Gauge does not read your photo library beyond the picture you choose, and never uploads a photo.

No analytics, no advertising. Gauge contains no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

Purchases. Gauge Plus is bought through Apple's App Store, and the purchase stays between your phone and Apple. The app asks Apple whether Plus is active and keeps only that answer (the plan and its renewal date) in its own database on your phone. No purchase detail is sent to us or to anyone else, and there is no account to attach it to. Everything you saved stays yours whether Plus is on or not.

Apple Health. Gauge can read weight and body fat from Apple Health into your Metrics, only when you switch it on under Metrics and allow it in the iPhone's Health permission sheet. It reads those two measurements and nothing else, keeps them in its own database on your phone like the measurements you type (so they travel in your backup file), never writes anything to Health, and never sends Health data anywhere. Health data is used only to show you your own record, never for advertising, marketing, or anything else. Switch the read off at any time under Metrics; what was read stays as your record unless you delete it.

Widgets. The Home and Lock Screen widget shows a small summary of your own records (today's entries, the next one on your schedule, doses left) that the app writes into a private container on your phone, shared only with its own widget. It never leaves the phone.

Children. Gauge is rated 17+ and is not intended for anyone under 17.

Deleting your data. Deleting the app deletes its database and everything in it. Backups you saved elsewhere remain where you put them.

Changes. If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new date, and the app will point to it.
